My Experience

Evaluate AI approaches for product data validation and classification using real member submitted data. Test practical AI applications for verifying barcode registration data and supporting product data workflows, while identifying where human validation remains necessary. Lead AI workshops for management on AI capabilities, limitations, and practical business applications.

Support undergraduate instruction in Data Structures and Algorithms through collaborative problem solving, technical guidance, and academic mentorship. Mentor students on algorithmic optimization, data abstractions, and computational complexity. Grade code submissions and provide feedback on algorithmic reasoning and course concepts.

Built and deployed a production website with 18 landing pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Tailwind. Developed a Flask and Python backend supporting job applications, automated email notifications, and client inquiry processing through structured form workflows.

Working with PhD student Emmanuel Garcia Santana under Mark Finlayson on an AI system trained and evaluated on approximately 50,000 Twitter posts from 2022–2023. The system identifies narrative and story related content and retrieves relevant Wikipedia pages representing entities and concepts referenced within each narrative.

Assisted students with campus navigation, class logistics, and adapting to new routines and responsibilities. Led icebreakers and group activities and managed a group chat to provide guidance and answer questions throughout the semester.

Completed community engagement through the volunteer requirement of the FIU Honors College.
